Rodrygo reveals what Luka Modric said to Mohamed Salah after the Champions League final

Real Madrid beat Liverpool by a single goal to win the UEFA Champions League title earlier in the year. It was the second time in 5 years that Los Blancos beat the Reds in a showcase game, having also beaten Jurgen Klopp's side in 2017/18. Unlike the previous game, Liverpool completely dominated both halves and created several chances, but Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was in excellent form and saved everything.

Vinicius Junior struck from close range in the second half to give Madrid the lead and despite numerous attempts from Mohamed Salah and company, Liverpool failed to level.

It was another heartbreak for Salah, who improved the game by saying Liverpool "had a score to settle".

"We have scores to settle," Salah posted on social media shortly after Real Madrid staged a second leg against Liverpool in the Champions League final.

Salah was injured in the first half of 2018 final and was unable to play a part in his side's 3-1 defeat. He expected to bring him back to Madrid this time, but it didn't happen.

Recently, one of Madrid's heroes of the season, Brazilian Rodrygo revealed what Croatian talisman Luka Modric Salah said after Madrid's win.

I have a funny anecdote," Rodrygo told the Cortes podcast.

"When the final was over, we [Madrid players] lined up and Liverpool [players] came through. An exhausted Salah came through.

"Modric was in front of me, he greeted him [Salah] and said: 'Ok, ok, next time you try again.'
